Why do we collect the paper and cardboard and deposit it in the municipal container?

At school, we are collecting and dumping all the paper and cardboard generated

throughout the week, class by class, staff room by staff room and office by office.

For this, at the beginning of the course, we had a cardboard box in each of the classrooms and offices, in which come the notebooks that we will use throughout the course, to which was added the recycling logo and the slogan "Recycling paper or Recycling paper".

In both buildings, you have two bins of about 100l. capacity each, blue an with the recycle logo. In them, for example, all primary and some  secondary students pour out the paper generated the previous day each day.

In the primary building we have two large bins, one in the staff room and one on the first floor. In this way, the classes in each area pour the paper into each of these bins.

For secondary school classes, we have put the bins made with the cardboard boxes (here we try to reuse everything) and in the staff room of this building there is another large blue bin.
Our job is to collect, class by class, each week the paper from the cardboard boxes and pour it into a large plastic bag. From the blue staff trash, we take out the black bag and put another empty one.

As for the primary building, what we do is take the black bags that are inside both
large blue bins and put other empty bags. Then we go to the municipal container for
the collection of Paper and Cardboard and we empty all the bags, we never throw them away.

With this CAS activity we are getting

all our colleagues, little by little, to

deposit only the paper and cardboard

in these bins and make them see that

they are contributing to more paper

being recycled, fewer trees are cut down

and even less CO 2 and other gases polluting

our atmosphere and, therefore, contributing

 to global warming.

Why we recycle paper?

In the following reflection I am going describe my experience in one of the activities done for CAS, the recycling of paper and an oral presentation related to my activity.

Throughout the year, my working partner and I, with the help of our CAS coordinator, have collected the maximum amount of paper possible in school. To achieve our intentions we went class per class visiting the two buildings of our school. This activity has raised my awareness about the quantity of paper we use daily and the importance of recycling resources. This weekly activity done along with two partners helped me to get the inspiration to perform an informative presentation about recycling, developing and explaining the importance of taking care about the environment.
My partner and I both got involved and suggested different ideas, taking together various decisions collectively. Once we planned the project, we used a different application named `prezi´ which we didn’t know about before. Through this website, I discovered new creative techniques that I’m sure will help me in the future, capturing the audience attention easily.

By doing this relevant and productive presentation to young students,

I got very excited and satisfied as I knew the students will learn new things such as the technical processes, environmental concepts and the importance of recycling.

At first, I thought the students wouldn’t like the information and my job in school.

However, when I started, I got extremely surprised as they interacted with me and listened during all the presentation, making me feel more comfortable.

I felt very relieved and calmed, as I knew some of the students changed their point of view of recycling. So my intentions were accomplished, as they learned how important recycling is in our lives and I promoted an eco-living lifestyle in the future generation.
